Commercial Standards Considered For Moss Bluff

LAKE CHARLES, LA (AP) — Calcasieu Parish police jurors next month will consider whether to approve updated standards for commercial development along four major corridors in the Moss Bluff area, something officials said would improve the appearance and value of the property.

The American Press reports a draft report issued this week says the regulations cover architectural design; asphalt or concrete parking lots and driveways; signs; landscaping; setbacks for property lines and rights of way; and enclosed trash bins.

Wes Crain, parish planning and development director, said the changes would apply to a stretch of U.S. 171 north to the parish line; La. 378 from U.S. 171 west to the Calcasieu River; Parish Road from La. 378 north to U.S. 171; and North Perkins Ferry Road from La. 378 north to U.S. 171.
