Colmex Construction To Open New Company Headquarters
NEW ORLEANS – The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana (HCCL) announced the opening of Colmex Construction’s new company headquarters at 4334 Earhart Blvd. An official ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 30, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
As the new Colmex Construction hub is unveiled, guests will enjoy refreshments, Colombian delicacies, live music and complimentary valet parking service.
This is an expansion to Colmex’ existing operation as a result of its consistent growth over the past few years, HCCL reps said. The company has achieved important goals under the direction of Angelica Rivera who holds the presidency at Colmex Construction, LLC, they said. Rivera came to New Orleans in 2008 and combined her management experience and knowledge in the mortgage industry with the construction field experience of her husband, Roman Lopez. With these valuable tools, she managed to create Colmex Construction while always keeping in mind the purpose of delivering their best to rebuild a city that had so much damage, as was the condition of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, HCCL reps said. Rivera is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business scholar and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana.
Colmex specializes in all phases of construction from small repair to new home construction, residential or commercial projects. Colmex is a general contractor that offers competitive prices, a high level of attention to customer needs and the timely completion of all projects, HCCL reps said. Colmex also provides services of design and construction related activities.
Founded in 2008, Colmex Construction has become a leader in building energy efficient homes for nonprofit agencies as well as private home owners, HCCL reps said.
“We’re thrilled to open the doors to our new location equipped to better serve our clients and community,” said President of Colmex Construction Rivera.
Colmex has worked with nonprofit agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, Harmony Neighborhood Development (formerly the New Orleans Neighborhood Development Collaborative), the Preservation Resource Center, Lower 9th Ward NENA, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) and the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO).
As a result, Colmex Construction received the Entergy's prestigious award “The Power of People Award" and the 2016 Excelencia Award from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, HCCL reps said.
“We are proud of our partnership with Colmex and delighted to see Angelica and her team achieve their goals and dreams,” said Mayra Pineda, president & CEO, HCCL.
