Chinese Lantern Festival To Light Up City Park
NEW ORLEANS – Tickets are on sale for New Orleans City Park China Lights, when more than 30 extraordinary, blazingly bright silk covered structures will fill the New Orleans Botanical Garden inside City Park, from Tuesday, February 23, through Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Picture an incredible glowing dragon 192-feet long or a three-story, lit-from-within pagoda towering high enough to be seen from almost any vantage point. Plus the festival will include live entertainment and Chinese food with New Orleans flair – think muffaletta egg rolls.
See dozens of dazzlingly colorful lighted displays created at City Park by a team of 100 artisans and technical staff from Sichuan Tianyu, located in Zigong, China.
Adult tickets cost $18, children’s tickets cost $12 and children 3 and under will be permitted to enter for free.
Both adult and children tickets may be purchased at the Administration Building, The Tolmas Center, and at the gift shop in the Casino Building. Adult tickets may be purchased online here.
Children’s tickets may not be purchased online.
Tickets are good for any night of the current season that the event is open. There is no refund due to rain, power outages, and other unforeseen conditions. There are no discounts available (no Friends of City Park discounts, no group discounts).
The exhibit will be on display:
Sunday – Thursday: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Attendees are asked to enter the event through the Oscar J. Tolmas Center at 5 Victory Avenue, New Orleans.
