Andrew Higgins Corridor Streetscape Study

The New Orleans Regional Planning Commission will host an open house to solicit public input on potential streetscaping improvements along Andrew Higgins Drive between Magazine Street and Convention Center Boulevard.

Current conditions and initial design will be presented in display format to allow community discussion and comment.

According to a RPC feasibility study, proposed improvements will include the installation of urban design and streetscaping features including sidewalk improvements, paving treatments, pedestrian scaled lighting, landscaping, etc., that will improve safety, accessibility, and comfort for non-motorized users.

They estimate improvements will cost $140,000 and take 9 months to complete.

The meeting will be held Thursday, October 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The National World War II Museum Louisiana Memorial Pavilion.
