Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic Announces Official 2019 Local Charities

NEW ORLEANS — The Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic has announced the 24 local charities accepted into its 2019 “Run For It!” Program. This year’s list includes 14 returning nonprofits and 10 new additions. All of the 501c3 organizations can begin raising funds this week through the 41st running of the Crescent City Classic on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Last year’s charities raised more than $1 million dollars and program officials expect to beat last year’s record-setting contributions.

“The New Orleans community never ceases to amaze us with their generosity when it comes to charitable giving and supporting those in need throughout the area,” said Crescent City Classic Charity Director Hilary Landry. “This year’s charities are no exception and we’re excited that the program continues to grow annually.”

Nonprofits have the option to buy 100, 75, 50 or 25 bibs at a discounted rate of $40 per a bib from the Crescent City Classic. Participants who choose to run for charity will pay an initial discounted registration fee of $40 and agree to raise a minimum of $200 for their charity. If participants raise $250, their credit card will be reimbursed the $40 registration fee. 2018’s highest charity fundraiser was Brian Sands for Covenant House – Sands raised $15,681 in 2018. Participating charities must also provide 20 volunteers on race day. All money raised through charity registrations will go directly to the nonprofits.
