Algiers Property Owners To Receive Additional Levee Millage Bill

NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans announced that Algiers property owners will receive additional bills on behalf of the Algiers Levee District regarding a renewed millage that was not included in the December 2015 bills. The millage is 6.35 mills for flood control on behalf of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West.

The renewed millage levied by the Algiers Levee District had not been fully approved by the State of Louisiana in December. The Algiers Levee District has since obtained full State approval to include the 6.35 mills in property tax bills.

The supplemental property tax bills were mailed starting today. These bills are available online at under Property Tax.
