With core strengths in the insurance, energy and exploration markets, firm reps said the combination of their practices will:

• Amplify one of the largest and most prestigious trial teams in the nation that will now include more than 350 litigators across 24 offices in the United States

Sixteen of the 30 new lawyers are located in Houston, the fourth largest city in America and a major point of entry for international trade and U.S.-Latin American investment. Austin, New Orleans and San Antonio are rising investment markets and key to the economy. Adding offices in each of these cities will grow Akerman's platform to 24 offices. The expansion is part of a national growth strategy to meet increasing client demand in major financial and business centers across the United States.

“Akerman is a dynamic, forward-thinking law firm that is truly client-driven in its strategy, and it is exceptionally well-managed,” Martin Beirne, Beirne Maynard & Parsons Founding Partner, said. “Given the firm's stellar reputation and performance, and our shared commitment to grow strategically in large capital markets and gateway cities, Akerman's national platform is a perfect fit for my partners, our diverse trial practice, and our expansive roaster of clients in need of comprehensive and sophisticated counsel. Our move will enable us to share a new level of industry specialists and expertise with our clients in even more places, and will do so with a continued focus on quality, efficiency and innovation.”
