Accreditation Of Business Programs At Delgado Community College Reaffirmed By ACBSP

NEW ORLEANS — The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Associate Degree Board of Commissioners has reaffirmed accreditation of the business programs in the Business and Technology Division at Delgado Community College.

Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes offered through the Business and Technology Division at Delgado Community College meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.

Delgado Community College was accredited by ACBSP in 1995. The College is required to go through the reaffirmation process every 10 years to maintain ACBSP accreditation. “Delgado Community College has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale, who will present the Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation at ACBSP Conference 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia on June 19.

“This reaffirmation of accreditation is evidence that Delgado Community College is committed to maintaining the highest quality business education for their students for the next 10 years, just as they have done since 1995,” said Parscale.

“We are delighted the prestigious Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has reaffirmed the accreditation of Delgado Community College’s three associate degree programs in Accounting, Business Administration and Business and Management,” said Warren R. Puneky Jr., Business and Technology Division Dean, Delgado Community College.

“This reaffirmation is evidence of the excellent quality of our business degree programs,” said Puneky. “It highlights our commitment to continuous improvement as we prepare our students to compete for high-demand jobs, and provide them with the requisite knowledge and critical thinking skills to advance in their chosen careers, or to further their education.”

Delgado Community College enrolls 2,124 students in the three associate degree programs in business: Accounting, 299; Business Administration, 739; Business and Management, 1,086. There are 60 business faculty members.

Delgado Community College, the largest and oldest community college in Louisiana, offers instruction at eight locations around the New Orleans region: Delgado City Park Campus, Delgado West Bank Campus, Delgado Charity School of Nursing, Delgado Sidney Collier, and the Delgado Maritime, Fire and Industrial Training Facility (all in New Orleans); Delgado Northshore (Slidell); Delgado Jefferson (Metairie); and the Jefferson Business and Career Solutions Center (Gretna).
