7th Annual 610 Stompers Ball Crawl ‘Wet Hot American Stomper’ To Benefit Angel’s Place, STAIR Saturday
NEW ORLEANS – Throw on your best summer camp gear and dance the day away with your favorite all male dance krewe. The 610 Stompers are hot steppin’ it on Saturday, June 11, 2016, for their 7th Annual Ball Crawl, appropriately titled, “Wet Hot American Stomper.”
Tickets are $40 if you purchase by June 11 and $50 at the Bawl Crawl starting point day of at Grit’s Bar, 530 Lyons St.
Participants must be over 21, sign a waiver, and be registered to participate. Price of admission includes free Abita beer, a commemorative Ball Crawl VII shirt and other Stompers Swag, a bar crawl spanning 7 bars and tunes spun by DJ Jubilee. Early registration is the only way to guarantee a full bag of swag, event reps said.
To benefit Angel’s Place and STAIR, the 610 Stompers bring their extraordinary moves to the masses once again through the streets of Uptown with stops at The Kingpin, Grit’s Bar, F&M’s, Fat Harry’s, Superior Seafood, Del Fuego Taqueria and Le Bon Temps. There will be epic dance-offs, contests, prizes and all will be rockin’ their best summer camp threads or 80's attire.
Angels’ Place is a charity for families with children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, including cancers. AP provides children’s respite care and other aid to clients in the greater New Orleans area.
STAIR (Start the Adventure in Reading) is a volunteer-based, non-profit children’s literacy organization that provides free reading tutors for 1st – 3rd grade students from participating New Orleans area public schools. STAIR operates 29 tutoring sites serving 250 students in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany and Plaquemines parishes. More than 300 volunteers participate in the program each year.
