33 Breweries, 1 Beer Marking 'Craft Brewer Week'
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The 33 members of the Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild have announced the launching of a "collaborative brew" to be released Sept. 24.
That's the first day of what has been deemed "Louisiana Craft Brewer Week" in a resolution passed by state legislators.
The Brewers Guild tells news outlets this year's product will be the first in an annual "ensemble series" commemorating Craft Brewer Week. It will be brewed this year at Abita Brewing Company in Abita Springs.
The first release is a double IPA style. It's described as a strong brew — 8 percent alcohol by volume — with an intense hop aroma.
The beer will be sold in limited release six-packs around the state, and Abita Brewing will donate $7 from every case sold to the guild.
