NORLI Welcomes Incoming 2017 – 2018 Class, Alumni At Orientation

NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI) recently announced its selection of 43 business, civic and community leaders throughout the 10-parish region who have been named to the 2017 – 2018 class.

“Every year, NORLI attracts many of the most influential and accomplished leaders in our region,” said Mark Cunningham, chairman of NORLI. “These individuals commit their time, energy and expertise to the betterment of the greater New Orleans region and represent the present and future for economic growth and responsible community development.”

As the preeminent regional leadership institute, NORLI provides a nine-month intensive training program for emerging and established community leaders. This rich and robust program, that is geographically, programmatically and demographically diverse, not only enhances the participants’ knowledge base, but also encourages deep, thoughtful, and meaningful dialogue on the key elements of building and maintaining thriving and healthy communities, program reps said.

The event, which served as the first formal gathering and announcement of the class, featured a combination of meet and greet and ice breaker activities, followed by wine and hors d’oeuvres with Alumni.

In mid-September, the class will begin its programming and delve into topics including public policy, education, workforce development, diversity, criminal justice, public safety, environment and sustainability, healthcare and more.

NORLI’s mission is to help promote regionalism and provide current and emerging leaders with a more thorough understanding of issues and an enhanced ability to collaborate for the greater good of the community, reps said.
