NEW ORLEANS – Dallas developer NewcrestImage released renderings of its new hotels, the 74-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott and the 105-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott, that will both open at 1600 Canal St. in the beginning of 2018.
At the site of a former 13-story University of New Orleans building, the two blended branded hotels will share amenities, but cater to different types of travelers.
At the SpringHill Suites, business and leisure guests will enjoy custom designed suites with West Elm inspired decor, and at TownePlace, an extended stay all-suite hotel, guests will enjoy spacious suites featuring three to 15 windows providing guests with an apartment like experience complete with Elfa closet systems by The Container Store.
Both hotels will share access to a vibrant lobby where crafted cocktail will be served at the Storyville lobby lounge, hot breakfasts for guests, free Wi-Fi, a guest laundry area, a rooftop wellness center and an elevated rooftop bar called Vue with stunning views of New Orleans, reps said.
The 183 rooms will also share the same registration desk.
According to NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune’s Jennifer Larino, NewcrestImage purchased the property at 1600 Canal St. for an undisclosed price in late 2015, the project is the first combined SpringHill Suites and TownPlace Suites in the country, and the hotel will start hosting guests on in the beginning of 2018.
Larino reports Campo Architects is the architect on the project.
