Boys Hope Girls Hope Of Greater New Orleans’ “Hope Grows Here” Gala To Benefit Education Initiatives For At-Risk Youth

The Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans’ annual gala, “Hope Grows Here,” takes place on Friday, Sept. 15, at the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in City Park.

NEW ORLEANS – Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans (BHGH) will hold its annual premier gala, “Hope Grows Here,” on Friday, Sept. 15, at the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in City Park, from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

The event, currently celebrating BHGH’s 37th year, will feature the best in local New Orleans cuisine, live music, exciting live and mobile auctions, raffle and a wine pull—all in support of the dedicated young scholars of BHGH, organizers said.

“Hope Grows Here,” chaired by BHGH junior board members, Caroline Broussard and Sally-Rose Cragin, with honorary chairs, Tom and Connie Kitchen, will bring magical garden party vibes to the Pavilion of Two Sisters, 3 Victory Ave.

The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by B Street Benny, and organizers said appetites will be satisfied by some of New Orleans’ finest restaurants, including Galatoire’s, Drago’s, Tableau, Caribbean Room and Glazer’s is serving up delicious apricot Moscow mules.

Organizers said the celebration will feature a raffle, wine pull, live auction and a mobile bidding silent auction through Handbid with something for everyone, including a four-day stay in New York City, two 50-yard line Club Level tickets and field passes to the New Orleans Saints vs. Detroit Lions game, a beautiful painting from artist Hunt Slonem and more.

Proceeds from the evening’s festivities will benefit the scholars of BHGH, which is committed to the vision of safe, family-like homes and educational opportunities for all children. BHGH currently operates two homes in Mid-City that serve 16 young men and women from their entry into the program, as early as eight-years-old, through high school graduation. BHGH reps said the organization provides all the support, resources and guidance a child needs to succeed at no cost to its families and has celebrated outstanding results: nationally, BHGH holds a 100 percent high school graduation rate and a college retention rate of 89-94 percent, compared to the national average of 66 percent.
