68K Raised By NOLA Pay It Forward Fund Donated To Hurricane Harvey Relief Orgs

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that the City of New Orleans, in partnership with the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF), will donate $68,000 in grants through the NOLA Pay It Forward Fund to local community organizations that are helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

On Aug. 28, Mayor Landrieu reactivated the NOLA Pay It Forward Fund to contribute to recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey’s impact in Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

“In New Orleans, we know what it is like to suffer through a disaster, and it’s because of the generosity we were shown that we’ve been able to bounce back better than before,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “Through the NOLA Pay it Forward Fund, we are giving back and supporting our local non-profits in their relief efforts. Thank you to everyone who donated, and I encourage others to continue to support this fund to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey and prepare to assist those impacted by Hurricane Irma.”

“We’re proud that our community is responding to needs of our neighbors,” said Andy Kopplin, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Foundation. “We’re supporting local organizations that are gathering supplies, marshaling volunteers, and taking their expertise to the impacted areas. We’re paying it forward, but let’s not stop. Please give today.”

The NOLA Pay It Forward Fund is awarding a total of $68,000 to the following organizations:
