November Job Fest to Take Place at Delgado Community College

NEW ORLEANS - With the holidays right around the corner, employers are looking to fill part-time and full-time positions, which makes it the perfect time for job seekers to explore new opportunities. New Orleans & Company is hosting its November Job Fest at Delgado Community College's Student Life Center (916 Navarre Avenue) on Thursday, Nov. 15, from noon to 3 p.m. Top employers from around the city will be present, looking for enthusiastic job candidates. Details were shared in a press release.

In New Orleans, tourism provides thousands of jobs in fields like guest relations, finance, administration, housekeeping, food and beverage service, and beyond. Each job offers an opportunity for growth and a chance to move up in a company, while enjoying employee benefits and the peace of mind that comes with a steady paycheck.

Designed to be a one-stop shop for job candidates, New Orleans & Company's Job Fest allows participants to meet with a variety of employers from hotels, restaurants and other tourism fields. Participants can ask questions and learn more about the hiring process in a welcoming, one-on-one setting. New Orleans & Company's Job Fest is part of an effort to connect job seekers to careers in the hospitality and tourism industry across New Orleans.

Participating companies include: New Orleans City Park, Audubon Nature Institute, Hotel Monteleone, HRI Lodging, Harrah's New Orleans Casino & Hotel, B on Canal New Orleans, Centerplate, Dickie Brennan & Company, the New Orleans Police Department, Menzies Aviation - MSY Airport, and Commander's Family Restaurants, among others.

There will be a panel discussion, hosted by Delgado Community College, before the Job Fest, from 11 a.m. to noon. Four industry leaders will provide guidance and insights on how to put your best foot forward at a job interview; how become fully aware of performance expectations on the job; and how to make the most of a career in the hospitality/tourism industry.

Confirmed panel members include: Tabitha McCabe, the talent and development senior director for Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts; Keith Schmitt, the director of human resources at the New Orleans Marriott; and Ellen Causey, the senior director of human resources at Audubon Nature Institute.

Free parking will be available for guests.
