UnitedHealthcare, New Orleans Saints Team Up To Create ‘Get Fit’ Youth Fitness Zone At McDonogh #32 Literacy Charter School

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Saints, UnitedHealthcare, public officials and community leaders will demonstrate the importance of physical activity and healthy nutrition on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at McDonogh #32 Literacy Charter School, 800 De Armas St., at 1:30 p.m.

New Orleans Saints players will demonstrate new fitness equipment and encourage students to get active and eat healthy. UnitedHealthcare officials report more than 13 percent of Louisiana children are overweight or obese, and most will go on to become obese adults.

The “Get Fit” Youth Fitness Zone, developed with the NFL PLAY 60 message in mind, features fitness equipment designed to give students a safe place to play and get active for at least 60 minutes a day, in an effort to help them increase their physical activity and fight childhood obesity.
