Kyle M. France And The Libby-Dufour Fund To Receive University Of Holy Cross Spes Unica Awards

NEW ORLEANS — Kyle M. France and the Libby-Dufour Fund will receive the University of Holy Cross’s annual Spes Unica (One Hope) Awards. The awards will be presented during a dinner on Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Metairie Country Club.

The Spes Unica award is the highest honor awarded by UHC. Spes Unica is also the university’s motto and refers to the fact that the cross is humanity’s one hope. Additionally, Spes Unica refers to the unity found in the Family of Holy Cross.

France is currently chair of UHC’s board of trustees and is the current President of Kehoe-France, Inc., where he leads the operations for two co-educational, non-denominational elementary schools and summer day camps for children ages eight weeks old through seventh grade. France is involved with many community organizations including the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District (LSED), Children’s Hospital, UMCMC in New Orleans, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and The New Orleans Advocate Community Advisory Board. He received a Master in Educations, Administration and Supervision from UHC in 1992.

The second honoree is the Libby-Dufour Fund, a charitable foundation supporting education in New Orleans since 1952. In December, the Foundation was a Charter Inductee into “The Norman Family Society,” which salutes those with lifetime giving to the University of Holy Cross totaling from $500,000 to $1 million. The Fund’s generous UHC investments have ranged from equipment upgrades for Blaine S. Kern Library to construction of chemistry and nursing labs to, most recently, installation of a striking sign by the university’s General DeGaulle Avenue entryway visible to the hundreds of drivers who use the thoroughfare daily.

“The university’s Spes Unica awards is the highest honor we give out to those who embody our university’s mission and make significant impacts in the New Orleans community,” said UHC President Dr. David “Buck” Landry. “Both Kyle M. France and the Libby-Dufour Fund are shining of examples of positive forces in our world.”
