Capital One Bank Associates Partner With Taproot Foundation For 2017 ScopeAthon, Volunteer At Young Audiences Charter School’s Painting And Beautification Day

NEW ORLEANS – On Wednesday, June 7, local Capital One Bank associates met at Place St. Charles, 201 St. Charles Ave., from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., for the 2017 ScopeAthon to help “scope out” and diagnose four Louisiana nonprofit organizations’ toughest challenges and then build actionable plans to tackle them.
ScopeAthon was a half-day, problem-solving event where nonprofit organizations partnered with associates from Capital One in areas such as customer relationship management, business development and financial management, to learn the skills needed to grow their businesses.
The four nonprofits included Choice Foundation of New Orleans, Fund 17 of New Orleans, Girls on the Run New Orleans and Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance of Baton Rouge.
Through an approach called “Investing for Good,” Capital One Bank is committed to delivering core banking services along with specialized community development, philanthropic and volunteer support to generate lasting, local community impact and valuable business results, bank reps said. Volunteer activities, including the ScopeAthon, demonstrate Capital One Bank’s longstanding commitment to programs that improve the local communities of Louisiana, they said.
Also on Wednesday, June 7, 18 Capital One associates volunteered at Young Audiences Charter School, 407 Virgil St., in Gretna, LA, for its “Painting and Beautification Day” to refresh the main hallway so that the school’s creative learners can learn in a bright environment.
