NEW ORLEANS —Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join City Councilmembers, the New Orleans Business Alliance and Cobalt Medical Development executives to celebrate the opening of the new, 66,000 sq. ft. Cobalt Rehabilitation Hospital, at 3701 Bienville St. in Mid-City, at 3:00 p.m.
The Cobalt Rehabilitation Hospital will offer state-of-the-art technology and equipment to assist in the care of speech, physical and occupational therapy, Traumatic Brain Injuries, concussions, strokes, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, Parkinson’s and muscular-based diseases. The new facility features 60 private inpatient suites, as well as both inpatient and outpatient programs.
This $24 million project will create approximately 178 permanent jobs, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses and nurse assistants.
The facility is scheduled to begin receiving patients in July.
