Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic Opens Application Process for Charities Interested In Participating In The Run For It! Program
NEW ORLEANS — The application process for 501c3 organizations interested in participating in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic’s “Run For It!” program is now open. Interested charities must complete the application process by Wednesday, August 15. Nonprofits interested in participating can download an application and instructions here.
“The New Orleans community never ceases to amaze us with their generosity when it comes to charitable giving and supporting those in need throughout the area,” said Crescent City Classic Charity Director Hilary Landry. “All we can hope is to continue to outdo ourselves year after year.”
Nonprofits that apply must choose how many bibs they commit to for their organization in increments of 25 with a minimum of 25 and maximum of 100. Bibs cost nonprofits a discounted rate of $40, but donors must raise a minimum of $200 for their chosen charity. For example, 2018’s highest charity fundraiser was Brian Sands for Covenant House – Sands raised $15,681 in 2018. Participating charities must also provide 20 volunteers on race day.
Payments from selected charities for their bibs are due by January 1, 2019, with two-payment installments available upon request. Selected charities for the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic will be announced in September of this year.
The next race in the 2018 Race Series is the Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic Fall Classic on Saturday, November 3, in New Orleans City Park. The race is the only qualifier for the 2019 Crescent City Classic at the 5K distance.
The 2019 Crescent City Classic will celebrate its 41st run on Saturday, April 20, the day before Easter.
