Business Facilities: New Orleans Ranks Seventh In U.S. For Connectivity

NEW ORLEANS – Spurred by one of the fastest growing airports in the nation, Business Facilities Magazine has named New Orleans No. 7 for connectivity amongst mid-sized cities in North America.

Michael Hecht, president and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc., said over the past two years, the New Orleans Airport has added international flights to London, Frankfurt and Panama City, and now hosts 15 airlines that serve 57 nonstop destinations (eight international) with approximately 150 daily departures.

New Orleans is also one of only two cities in the U.S. with six Class-A railroads, has major interstate access, and sits at the mouth of the Mississippi River which serves 31 states and two Canadian provinces, Hecht said.

Business Facilities also ranked South Louisiana No. 1 for Top 10 Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZs) for imports.
