World Trade Center of New Orleans CEO Leaving Organization to Pursue Fulbright Scholarship

Caitlin Cain

NEW ORLEANS – The World Trade Center of New Orleans (WTCNO) has announced the departure of current CEO, Caitlin Cain. Cain, who is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship, will spend part of the new year in Australia to pursue this prestigious achievement. Details were shared in a press release.

“Caitlin has achieved great success and wide admiration for her work over the past two years”, said Tom Spiers, chairman of the World Trade Center of New Orleans Board of Directors. “We are grateful for her dedication to our mission and her vision for the organization and wish her all the best as she participates in this highly selective endeavor.”

During her tenure with the nation’s oldest trade center organization, Cain envisioned and implemented several high-profile programs including Global Connect, a coalition designed to bridge the gap between small and medium-size businesses and global resources and networks and the first Louisiana International Trade Week. The organization also credits Cain with streamlining operations, increasing WTCNO membership visibility as well as levels of member engagement.

“My experience gained at WTCNO has been invaluable as I approach this next chapter in my career,” said Cain. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my leadership tenure, especially serving as a change agent for the organization, and am confident WTCNO is well poised for continued success. I look forward to watching its evolution in the years to come.”

The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, awards a select group of scholars each year and is administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. WTCNO will immediately begin a search for a new Chief Executive Officer. Cain’s last day as CEO will be January 17, 2019.
