Crying Eagle Brewing Launches In New Orleans
LAKE CHARLES, La.—Crying Eagle Brewing Company announced that its four flagship brews – Hop Blooded IPA, Louisiana Lager, Pistol Bridge Porter, and Ready to Mingle – are now available in retail stores, bars and restaurants in the Greater New Orleans Area.
The Lake Charles brewery notes that it has made its mark on the craft beer industry with rapid growth and success in the southwest corner of the state as well as parts of Southeast Texas. The expansion into New Orleans marks significant growth for Crying Eagle as a Louisiana brand, and solidifies Southwest Louisiana as a player in the craft beer world.
“Our ambition and ingenuity is reflected in our brews. These aren’t your typical craft beers,” said Eric Avery, president of Crying Eagle Brewing Company, in a press release. “Lake Charles and Lafayette have been tremendously supportive of our microbrewery, and we’re ‘ready to mingle’ with the rest of Louisiana.”
“It’s all brewed right here in the heel of the boot, and what makes us different is drinkability,” said Avery. “We hope the craft-beer lovers here will adopt Crying Eagle as one of their favorites.”
Brewed in Calcasieu Parish, Crying Eagle takes its name from the word “Calcasieu,” which roughly translates to “crying eagle.” That was the name of the legendary local Atakapa Indian chief who charged into battle with a fearsome cry.
The four brews available in New Orleans are:
Hop Blooded IPA: This juicy, hop-forward brew showcases a blend of American Hops with a tropical cocktail of candied pineapple, orange, mango, and stone fruit.
Louisiana Lager: Craft brewed using Louisiana Rice, this easy-drinking Lager is approved for Backyard BBQ’s, Crawfish Boilin’, Tailgating, Fishing, and all things Louisiana.
Pistol Bridge Porter: Black and caramelized malts, impart notes of dark chocolate, toffee, and dried fruits in this delicious brew. Additionally, generous portion of English hops provide balance and make this Porter go down easy.
Ready To Mingle: This brew was crafted using traditional Trappist techniques, but we’ve broken in out of the abbey to be your wingman. Light body and effervescent carbonation mingle with notes of clove and coriander to kick off any evening with a bit of sophistication...or not.
