Save Our Brass Culture Foundation Announces Inaugural New Orleans Original Brass Fest
NEW ORLEANS - Save Our Brass Culture Foundation will host the New Orleans Original Brass Fest, the newest way to experience New Orleans music, heritage and culture. The one-day event will bring more than 15,000 music lovers from around the country to Louis Armstrong Park, one of New Orleans' most featured and historic public spaces, on Saturday, March 16. Details were shared in a press release.
Local online events platform Joieful has recently joined the festival as the official sponsor of the VIP experience. The Joieful VIP Experience will offer a special commemorative poster, drink passes, and entrance to exclusive VIP areas that include access to private restrooms and an on-site cigar bar.
The full-day event will feature brass band performances, second line parades, high school band performances, New Orleans cuisine, and arts and crafts.
"Save Our Brass Culture Foundation is extremely excited to present what will soon become one the New Orleans' most excited and talked-about festivals," said local musician Ersel "Garfield" Bogan, III. "Being a musician in this city is like nowhere else in the country, but being in a brass band, well that's like nowhere else in the world. I'm so excited to be able to share our talent and our culture with both locals and visitors alike through this new and unique event."
The festival line-up features local favorites Big Sam Funky Nation, The Hot 8 Brass Band, Big 6 Brass band, Stooges Brass Band and more. Organizers have also announced plans to kick-off the festival by honoring the recently deceased members of the New Orleans music community with a traditional second line throughout the park.
"Joieful is very proud to sponsor this amazing and important festival for our local brass artists and their families," said Aaron Dirks, CEO of Joieful. "Save Our Brass Foundation and the entrepreneurs leading this effort are exactly the kind of opportunities we look to sponsor. Joieful will continue to make a conscious effort to give back to the artists of New Orleans who dedicate their lives to entertaining and maintaining the culture of this great city."
Tickets start at $10 for general admission and go up to $100 for the complete Joieful VIP Experience. Tickets can be purchased here; all proceeds benefit the Saving Our Brass Culture Foundation.
