Chefs From Across The Country To Battle For King, Queen Of American Seafood Title In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board will welcome chefs from across the country to the nation’s ultimate seafood cooking competition, the 2017 Great American Seafood Cook-Off, on Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Hall J, 900 Convention Center Blvd., from 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

         The culinary cook-off, that coincides with the first day of the Louisiana Food Service and Hospitality Expo, will commence with a Carnival-style parade through the Convention Center at 11:30 a.m., followed by a full day of live cooking demonstrations by 13 of the nation’s top seafood chefs. Queen of Louisiana Seafood Chef Bonnie Breaux will represent Louisiana.

         The winning seafood dish will earn its chef the title of King or Queen of American Seafood. The crowning ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m.
