Big Freedia, Naughty Professor, Big Sam's Funky Nation To Preform At National Fried Chicken Festival

NEW ORLEANS – The National Fried Chicken Festival presented by Raising Cane's announced its entertainment lineup, which includes Big Freedia, Naughty Professor, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Sean Ardoin & the Zydekool, The Spirit of New Orleans Gospel Choir, Kristen Diable & The City, Motel Radio and many more.

         The National Fried Chicken Festival is set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, in Woldenberg Park.

         "With the addition of a second music stage, it allowed us the ability to create more opportunities for New Orleans musicians, while providing a greater diversity in entertainment for our guests," said Cleveland Spears, III, FCF organizer and president and CEO of the Spears Group. "We are confident we have curated an entertainment line-up that will appeal to everyone from Millennials to baby boomers and locals as well as our visiting tourists."

         Other entertainers on the lineup include Shamar Allen & The Underdawgs, Motel Radio, Los Po Boy Citos, DJ Raj Smoove and DJ Captain Charles. Naughty Professor, New Orleans-based jazz-funk sextet, recently released their fourth album, Identity. The band, nominated for "Best Emerging Artist" and "Best Funk Band" in Gambit Weekly's Big Easy Music Awards since 2013 will headline the main stage Saturday night. The Queen of Bounce and New Orleans native Big Freedia will headline the main stage on Sunday night during the Ode to Bounce in addition to Partners-N-Crime and The Big Easy Band, Cupid, and Denisia.

         The National Fried Chicken Festival is a free outdoor festival in New Orleans that brings the community together to celebrate and indulge in one of America's favorite dishes. There will also be a variety of experiences for all ages including the American Federation for Children Kids' Coop, the Sucré Sweet Spot, the GoNOLA Mist and Chill Lounge, the return of the Moet Chicken and Champagne VIP Lounge and more.
