Mayor Landrieu, 2018 NOLA Commission, Axios Announce The Future Of Global Cities: A Summit Of International Mayors

 

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu in partnership with the 2018 NOLA Commission and Axios announced The Future of Global Cities: A Summit of International Mayors. This event is a part of a series of events and activities to honor and commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of New Orleans. The City has a series of activities planned to honor the city’s rich international culture and heritage, celebrate its progress and its people, and set the course of New Orleans’ strong and vibrant future.

On Friday, April 20, 2018, Mayor Mitch Landrieu in partnership with the City, the 2018 NOLA Commission and Axios will host The Future of Global Cities: A Summit of International Mayors. The summit will convene policy makers, business executives, thought leaders, and mayors and ambassadors from around the world to discuss the increasing importance of cities to international issues including safety & security, transportation & mobility, resilience & sustainability, economic growth, and equity. This will provide an opportunity to explore new trends across these issue areas, discuss ongoing large scale urban challenges, and identify best practices that can be scaled for the benefit of residents.
